They Missed The Point –

They Missed the Point!

Several times, I have heard people commenting on the book of Job saying that God asked Job several questions, but the answers were not provided. They missed the point.

For many people, when they consider Christ becoming Lord of their lives, they see it as thick iron shackles being clamped into their wrists and ankles. They missed the point.

Quite a number of people want to wait until later to reconcile with God. They missed the point.

It is very common to hear people bemoan the great evils that exist in this life, and conclude that there must not be a God who is both loving and powerful. If such a God did exist, He would not allow such evil. They missed the point.

Get The Point

The theme of the book of Job addresses the point of all of the questions that God asked Job, and Job got the point.

If I get the point, then I will consider Christ becoming Lord of my life as the shackles being removed. Once I see that, I would not want to put it off until later.

The theme of the book of Job in the Bible is the glory of God. The point is that God is glorious. In comparison, we are stupid, filthy weaklings. It is clear, both from Scripture and from our experience in this life, that it is critically important for us to choose between good and evil. When we see the glory of God, then we will trust Him to orchestrate the affairs of this life so that the choice is clear.

1 Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Each one of us has a choice between humility and humiliation. When we have trouble being humble, the answer is the glory of God. Thankfulness, honor to my fellow man, worship of the One True God – all of these will help me to grow in my humility – and that is the point.
