Flat-Earth Sham Exposed —

Yes, there are some Christians who have been misled by the hoax, as well as non-Christians. For most any ruse, there is always going to be some group of people who are tricked. Just because some Christians, for the moment, have been deceived by this sham, does not mean that it is a Christian campaign. Actually, it is just the opposite. Feigning to be Christians, several Atheists and Humanist got together to attempt to slander Christianity by claiming to believe in a flat Earth that does not move, and a geocentric Universe. Usually they include assertions that space travel and Moon landings have all been faked. A key component of this straw man they have constructed, is that they also affirm the proper doctrines of what is called Young Earth Biblical Creationism. The point of this whole façade is to discredit those who have successfully demonstrated that the plain reading of the Holy Bible is completely consistent with all scientific observations. As experienced Bible students well know, the Bible does not say that the Earth is flat, nor does it teach a geocentric cosmos. It is a pity that some have been misled.

This is my conclusion about the sham, and how it got started. Of course, you are free to come to your own conclusion. This article is not intended to prove or demonstrate that my conclusion is correct, as that would require a book, not a blog post.

The Sun rises in the East and sets in the West all around the world. This is simply impossible on a flat Earth. So, it is quite easy to scientifically refute the Flat-Earth Sham. You might be like me. I already knew most of the information in this Answers in Genesis article, but I never had a need to gather it together to form a coherent thesis supporting the observable facts of planetary orbits and a spherical Earth. Dr. Danny Faulkner has done a good job doing so. Thank you Dr. Faulkner! He even refutes some ridiculous claims that I would not have bothered to mention, feeling they don’t deserve serious consideration.

There is no such thing as a separation between science that Christians believe, in contrast to science that Atheists believe. We all have the same science. By definition, science is observable, repeatable, and testable. Christianity is not anti-science.

Psalm 9:1 I will praise [thee,] O LORD, with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy marvellous works.

With the proper mindset, the scientific study of God’s creation is a form of worship, giving honour to the Creator. The more we study God’s creation, the more we see His glory and majesty. The amazing detail of God’s design is so overwhelming that we are simply incapable of fully comprehending it all. Though we can easily see the effects of The Fall and The Curse, the evidence of Master Design still leaves us in awe.
